Joanne Martens is a Consulting Partner with Gelatt Partners and the Principal of Intelleto Advantage. As an organizational consultant and executive coach, she specializes in implementing leadership development solutions that link individual effectiveness to organizational performance. Joanne assists individuals, teams and organizations in creating and implementing practical strategies for recruitment and selection, development and retention, change and transition.
In addition to working with adults, Joanne founded Teen YOUniversity, a first-of-its kind life/career coaching program to help high school students launch into adulthood.
Joanne brings over 20 years experience working in diverse environments including non-profit, academia, corporations and Internet start-up to her consulting and coaching work.
Prior to starting her own practice, Joanne was Business Development Manager for ePredix, a privately held Internet start-up. Hired as the 14th employee, Joanne served as the “evangelist” in the San Francisco Bay Area to generate corporate awareness for a first-of-its-kind web-based assessment tool for recruitment and selection.
As a Senior Consultant for the Career Action Center, and Vice President for Drake Beam Morin, she consulted with executives and human resources to assess organizational needs, develop recruitment and workforce strategies, design and deliver customized coaching and training programs and manage project implementation and evaluation.
Joanne began her career in public education and also was a sales executive with the Burroughs Corporation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies/Education from San Francisco State University. Joanne is a 5th generation San Franciscan. She is an accomplished athlete having recently completed a marathon and century ride (100 mile cycling event) with Team in Training, the endurance training and fundraising arm of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
