There are times in the life of executives when they may
question how they are leading, feel isolated in their role or consider how
their careers are unfolding. It’s moments like these when having an objective
sounding board, strategic thinking partner and trusted advisor can turn
feelings of uncertainty, doubt and sometimes loneliness into clarity of focus,
increased confidence and deepened capacity to lead change, benefitting both the
executive and their organization.
Executive coaching is most effective for executives who have
a desire to change, are open to feedback, have a bias towards action and who
believe that change is possible.
As an
objective sounding board and trusted advisor, Gelatt Partners has
provided executive
coaching to senior leaders in support of changes in individual interpersonal
and leadership style; to think through challenging individual, team, and organization-wide
problems; and to redefine their career direction.
Examples of executive coaching engagements
we have undertaken include:
Leadership Advancement: Nonprofit CEO’s
Since the inception of a foundation’s leadership advancement
grant program in 2005, Gelatt Partners was provided executive coaching and
organizational development advice to high performing nonprofit CEO’s as they develop
two-year plans that include goals, objectives, strategies, timeline and budget
within the context of their day-to-day work and the organization’s inflection
point. The two-year plans result in an increased capacity of the CEO to
effectively lead their organizations through a strategic inflection point and
for the organization to deepen its impact in the community.
Leadership Effectiveness: Nonprofit and university leaders
During strategic inflection points in the life of nonprofit
and university organizations, Gelatt Partners has effectively worked with
senior leaders to strengthen their internal communications especially regarding
expectations and building the will to change; shift their role from being
internally focused to one that is more balanced with external responsibilities;
increase delegation; prioritize the demands on their time. The results are
increased satisfaction, decreased burnout, and greater alignment with their
best work.
Career Crossroads: High tech and foundation senior leaders
At
various times in executive careers, they may find themselves at a crossroads
regarding their best work and how they want their future leadership roles to
unfold, whether internally or externally. Gelatt Partners successfully coaches
CEO’s, vice presidents, founders and senior directors across a variety of
functions and sectors. The results are clarity of focus regarding what they
want for their careers and lives, increased confidence in all communications,
and strategic and measurable action plans that are the foundation for realizing
the change they want.
